Lama Yeshe Nyingpo was born in Paris in 1952. After meeting Lama Gendun Rinpoche in 1981 he became his devoted student and translator, committing himself to the monastic life in 1982. In 1984 Lama Yeshe helped establish Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, the three-year retreat center in the Auvergne, France. In 1987, Lama Yeshe began two consecutive three year retreats, where he received the entire transmission of the Kagyu lineage. On coming out of retreat in 1994, Gendun Rinpoche designated him as one of the main spiritual teachers with the particular responsibility of directing three-year retreats, Since then his activity has consisted of preserving the Kagyu transmission, translating texts, and teaching and guiding practitioners on the path of mediation. |
