San Luis Obispo, California
We all share the same desire to be happy and free from suffering, but this goal seems to elude us much of the time. Located in a quiet residential section of San Luis Obispo, the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center welcomes everyone interested in the Buddhist path to true happiness. We provide opportunities to learn and practice meditation, as well as to gain knowledge, study and discuss topics from a progressive Buddhist curriculum.
Guided by Mahayana Buddhism, our founder, Shamar Rinpoche, and our teachers, we meet twice weekly and host teachers from nearby Bodhi Path centers several times a month on Sunday mornings. We sponsor longer programs several times a year, including teachings from Dharma Teachers, Lamas, and Rinpoches from Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Bodhi Path SLO welcomes experienced practitioners, total beginners and anyone in-between. Explore these pages and links to learn more about both our local dharma community and the larger Bodhi Path organization-and, most of all, to visit us at the San Luis Obispo Bodhi Path Center. Current programs are located to the right under "Local News & Updates." Mark your calendar.
We meet Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays from 6:50 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Meditation instruction is always available. Special retreats and teachings occur every few months.
