The Athens Bodhi Path Center is happy to announce the visit of the great teacher Mipham Rinpoche and his wife Mayum-la, the parents of H.H. the 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje this coming September in Athens.

It is a great joy and honor to have them near us once again after their visit three years ago.

Traveling with them will be Khempo Ngedeun who has completed the entire studies of Buddhist Philosophy for nine years at the monastery at Rumtek under the guidance of the H.H. 16th Karmapa, thus gaining the title of Khempo (professor of Buddhist studies).

Khempo Ngedeun has taught Buddhist philosophy at K.I.B.I. (Karmapa International Buddhist Institute) in New Delhi for three years and at the Shedra (Buddhist University) in Kalimpong, India, for six years. He is now teaching in Europe.

Mipham Rinpoche is the third incarnation of a great yogi, scholar and terton of Tibet. He is one of the highest realized teachers of the Njigmapa lineage and a great ‘Siddha’ known in Tibet for his extraordinary qualities. He spent many years meditating in retreat in Tibet in times that spiritual practice was extremely difficult due to the Chinese invasion.

In spite of Rinpoche’s physical difficulties due to a stroke he suffered, he travels throughout Europe every year giving inspiration and blessings to all who have the good fortune to meet him.

During Rinpoche’s visit Khempo Ngedeun will give teachings on Bodhicitta, the different Bodhisattva levels and how to take and follow the Bodhisattva vows.

We will also have the exceptional and rare opportunity to meditate in the presence and blessing of Mipham Rinpoche, this highly realized teacher.

The Athens Bodhi Path Center is honored to welcome H.E. Beru Khyentse Rinpoche once more.

It is said that meeting an authentic teacher is extremely rare to be meet with so we consider ourselves very lucky to be able to have this time with Rinpoche to further develop on our spiritual path and learn to apply this to our daily lives.

Rinpoche will give the Bodhisattva vow, ‘Lung’ for the practice of Manjusri and  explanations on the aspiration prayer of Mahamudra of the 3rd Karmapa, Ranjung Dorje, a prayer that covers the entire path, from the precious human body right through to enlightenment.
