Retreat Center Dining and Community Facility Fundraising Information

Shamarpa Rinpoche has begun to establish a retreat center at Bodhi Path Natural Bridge. Rimpoche sees a need to provide facilities for students and teachers to practice his Lojong teachings.

Of course, facilities will be built in stages, but eventually Rinpoche would like to provide a dining hall/canteen, a bath house, camping and rustic residential facilities, residential cabins, dormitories, a larger meditation hall and a 35 Buddhas stupa. The first stage needed to implement any program is a dining facility. Then residential facilities will follow.

The dining hall will have a commercial kitchen, inside dining facilities for 100 persons, an outside terrace for additional diners, rest rooms, and an office/administrative center. When this dining hall is complete, along with the existing residential facilities and the existing meditation hall, Bodhi Path Natural Bridge will be able to institute an ongoing retreat program. Also, this facility will anchor larger programs which now can be held in spacious tents on a recently enlarged flat area near the dining hall site.

Our proposed dining facility will be about 3,204sf of enclosed space, with and expected costs of approximately $150.00/sf, which totals $480,000.00

All donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made online (see above) or by check. Checks should be made to The Wisdom Foundation, and mailed to 620 Galloping Path, Natural Bridge, VA 24578. Please note on checks to be designated for the dining hall construction project.

Thank you for your generosity.
