About the Center

After having met again and again at the Renchen-Ulm Center, a group of people from our area expressed the wish to establish a local meditation group. The foundation was laid at the end of Shamar Rinpoche’s last teaching in June 2014 in Renchen-Ulm and finally, in the fall of 2014, we started meeting for weekly meditation at a private home. After consulting with Jigme Rinpoche in the fall of 2015 about the future of our group, he gave his approval to turn it into a center.

Augsburg is Germany’s second oldest city steeped in a history of over 2000 years. Our center is located in the town of Neusaess on the Western outskirts of Augsburg, about a 15 minute drive from downtown Augsburg. Neusaess has a highway connection (A8) and two train stations along the railway line Munich-Stuttgart. The center can easily be reached by public transportation with a regular bus service on the 500 and 501 lines originating at Augsburg Central Station. From the bus stop (Ottmarshausen-Muehlbachstrasse) it’s a 2 minute walk to the center.

Our regular schedule is Thursdays, 7:30pm, Calm abiding meditation (Shiné).
