Khenchen Trinley Paljor Rinpoche, one of the chief lineage holders of the Kagyu school, passed away. Khenchen means Great Khenpo, or teacher, of the lineage.

According to a message from Dharmakaya Center, his place of residence in the United States, Khenchen Rinpoche passed away at home on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 6:30 pm following a short illness. He is currently absorbed in post-mortem meditation, called tukdam, or meditative repose.

This is a particularly beneficial moment for all students to practice and meditate.

Karmapa reminds us in his message today to view this moment as a mirror to reflect our own pattern of cyclic birth, living, and dying.

More information about Khenchen Rinpoche is available on the Dharmakaya website.

Our friends at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling have also provided additional perspective on this moment via their website.
