Shenyen Karsang Tenzin
Karsang Tenzin was born in 1968 in Qinghai province of eastern Tibet. At the age of sixteen, he was ordained a monk in a Karma Kagyu monastery and began his study with traditional rituals. At the age of nineteen, he was educated at Qinghai Buddhist Institute in Kupum monastery, specializing in "Prajnaparamita" and graduated three years later. He then spent another four more years studying at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Dehli, India under the guidance of Khenpo Chodrak Tenphel Rinpoche. Starting in 1999, he began to teach at the Yushu Buddhist Institute in Kham and was appointed as Khenpo. He continued to teach in Taiwan and southeastern Asia. In 2007, he was appointed by H. H. Shamarpa to be the resident Teacher of the Bodhi Path Kamra Kaygu Buddhist Centre, Hong Kong.
